- 50% of the gay rights article done.
- 100% of an article on Oliver Twist.
- Submitted to a scholarship I'm interested in.
- Chicken wings were perfect
- Accepted internship
And tomorrow after seeing friends, I have to call in my editor, do another article and then outline all of my novel projects so i don't forget them. And then I have to pitch a new article.
Very pleased with myself.
All next week, I'll be doing the opening work on the Sekrit project.

I'll be writing an article on homosexuality in the Jewish Orthodox community, calling people to interview and enjoying a beautiful and quiet night of chicken wings, fiction and good times.
No Christmas for me, but I wish everyone else who celebrates a good one!
Someone had to ruin my day. And lady, you just did.

This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!
AND
I got blurbed for an article I wrote!
In in the next three months, I have four articles coming out and have made excellent progress on the super sekrit project.
Plus, I may be getting a gift next week of someone I have always wanted to meet.
Remember my name, people. It's one worth knowing!

Last night, 800 mostly Orthodox Jewish people came out to listen and acknowledge that gay people exist in our community and show our support. As each panelist spoke, they were wildly applauded and encouraged and cheered. One panelist privately teared up that so many people showed up, they had to turn away people from the door. "They hear us. They see us," he said softly.
I'd like to give you some quotes that I particularly liked. I tried to organize the quotes by colors to avoid using names, but if I'm wrong, my mistake.
"I just wanted to start with an apology. There are faces that I see in this room who I have relationships with before the last 30 seconds and I haven’t had the chance to talk about this part of myself and I’m sorry I haven’t had the chance to talk to you yet if it’s surprising- we can talk about it later, find me on Facebook."
" I fought for six years, every Rosh Hashana, denying who I am, every Yom Kippur with tears streaming down my face asking God to take it away. "
"You know, all kids have to deal with thinking about disappointing their parents and that’s something again, a rite of passage. We want to make our parents proud. Ever since I was a kid what I was afraid of was embarrassing my parents just by opening my mouth. I may have been a kid but I wasn’t stupid. I knew that just by walking around the way I did, talking the way I did ,things that just the way I was at 4, 5, 6 or 7- I went around and my hand was like this *mimics limp wrist* and that’s true and it is funny- but it wasn’t funny to me then because when I knew that when I did this and I looked at my father and my father’s eyes in public I saw how embarrassed I was. I saw how I, who loved him- he was so embarrassed and that killed me." --Panelist
One of the best things about growing up in a frum home was the weddings. From a very young age I would get very excited to go to these weddings to be in the women’s section because it wasn’t exciting in the men’s section. The women with their beautiful gowns and the dances. And at one point my father got nervous and said come, come, come dance with me. And I was a chutzpadik kid and I said, “Why would I want to leave this wonderful place to go be with a bunch of retarded smelly penguins?”
"The pasuk ‘a man shall not lie with another man because it is an abomination’ is not just my problem because I am gay but their own challenge. How could a religion that is supposed to be so compassionate put an individual through so much suffering? Hashem made me that the only way I can feel loved is with another man and then tells me to abstain from it. I’m not saying how to solve that but to understand that struggle. You don’t have to legitimize or accept me. Hope we will be able to universalize the struggle and share in it because I just can’t carry it alone any longer. "
No protests. No cruelty. Just love and acceptance and caring and kindness and more love.
"How goodly are your tents, O Jacob, your dwelling places, O Israel!"

My editor rocks my socks! Dropping everything to run to a story is annoying, but god is it amazing. I'm a bit less stressed now and I think I have a lot to fill my plate with. Excellent.
I have entered into two internship applications.
Now to email some clips.

I never had Christmas. For me, December had no trimming of trees, no fancy ornaments and no mangers. Of course, I knew that it existed, I live in the Western world, but it was always with the idea that such traditions were foreign. Like a beautiful museum, they were to be admired but not touched.
For me, December was gathering in my mother’s sitting room and lighting candles and singing songs. We never made a big deal about it, it wasn’t a formal holiday that required much work, and it was just a few minutes and back to our daily life.
But in those few minutes, we shared in a tradition that dates back 2500 years. And that is something special. So, till 2010 when we all meet again, thank you for those few minutes of light we shared.

I have a decent knowladge of Hebrew, Yiddish and a reading ability in Aramaic.
If I could speak one new language, it would likely be a form of Chinese which would be useful in business. Yes, I'm boring.
Okay, so I will not be posting much in the next three days.
If I survive, see you Thursday night.

On Friday, I will attempt to sing them
Mi Yimalel-
Oh striving higher, The children of the Fire, who is like them?
The comet’s great fire, drove our hopes higher and shall again
Hark!
Lord Sozin struck the blow for our great land
Paved the way for our ambitions grand
In thy name our heart you do inspire
Brings the world true knowledge of the fire
Rock of Ages
Sozin’s comet light the night
Lead us to our victory bright
Strengthen us with your great power
Let our enemies fall and cower
Through the night, they assail us
But thy might shall win the day
Oh thy light shall burn bright
And thy glow will pierce their sight
Banu Chosesh
We have come to cast out darkness
In our hands are light and fire
Each one is a small light
Turn back darkness
Turn back night
Turn back from before the light.
(Okay, I didn’t even have to change that one!)
Kad Katan
Our mighty lord, our mighty lord
Led us with his flaming sword
The city stood, with stone walls high
But Sozin vowed he’d win or die!
All the soldiers met his call
Mightily made the city fall
Had he not brought victory
We today would not be free
